It never hurts to remember the impact of "residential tourism" in Spain, in this case sponsored by the Association of builders and developers of Spain and Pwc (in Spanish very easy to read). In 2022, residential tourism contributed €1,785m in new-build transactions, and €4,565m in spending on stays and enjoyment (page 9 summarised).We have calculated that just in Marbella, the AJD for that year exceeded €100m, including new and used properties. "Ergo", the Costa del Sol has to claim its share in services and infrastructures. We are aware of the effort on the water supply sistem, but this has to be a starting point, not an exception, until the next ‘crisis’. 🏡 Holiday apartment owners in Luxembourg are facing big changes this year. As of last September, if you want to rent out your property for more than 90 days a year, you'll need to register as a business and complete a training course through the Chamber of Commerce.What does this mean? 🧐- You’ll need a second tax card.- An 18.5-hour training course, including exams.- A €270 fee, plus the cost of setting up a new business.- Restrictions in green zones where only residential properties are allowed.Many fear this could limit rental options and hurt tourism.
