Update: Success! (NRA Instructor Discount, Springfield Armory Unresponsive) Have any of you successfully used your NRA instructor discount to order a firearm directly from Springfield Armory? Several weeks ago, I placed an order for an M1A from Springfield Armory. I submitted my NRA credentials, other details and transfer FFL information. They responded with a form email saying "thanks. . ." and stated they'd call for payment information. Since then, they haven't called for a credit card and have not replied to email inquiries to their specified address. Crickets. I know suppliers are buried these days. Certainly, I expect to wait a while for delivery. Still, I'd hope they could acknowledge inquiries. Have any of you been able to conduct a direct purchase from them? Have they been responsive? Yes on both questions. My purchases were pre pandemic, but very easy. |

I just received my Ronin 10mm from SA that I ordered in October via the "Pro Staff" program, not the NRA program. However, SA was very responsive to my initial inquiry and application. I was told it could take up to six months to receive my gun, it took about five. $540 plus tax and shipping. __________________ Last edited by CH4; 04-27-2022 at 11:13 AM. |

Thanks for the info, guys. I sent an email describing my concern via their website's "Contact Us" form. I'll give it a couple of days, but I have to say their responsiveness isn't impressive. I may have to go old fashioned and actually place a phone call . . . . |

I was just looking at getting a handgun from Springfield also, but it would be really nice if Smith and Wesson offed us Instructors a discount!! |

I am still frustrated with Springfield Armory. As I noted in the original post, they ignored my emails both to the address on the order acknowledgement and to their contact page on the website. I called and after a 5 minute wait, got a person. Woo hoo! She said she had to transfer me to the department handling NRA Instructor sales. So after another 5-6 minute wait, I got Tiffany's voicemail. She was "away from her desk." I left a voicemail with my question and callback info. There has been no response. The irony of this is that Springfield's on hold message refers to their "Award Winning Customer Service." I have to wonder just what kind of award they won. . . . Yes, in part I'm just grousing. I am curious if other have had this award winning experience. I'm about ready to write them off as a viable company. |

Well.... It's me again. I'll quit grumbling now. I got a pleasant guy on the line at Springfield Armory and he was ready to transfer me to "the right person." I gave him some more info about ignored emails and voicemails and he said "one minute please." Magically "the right person" came on the line. She took my credit card number, verified the order and said it will be 30-90 days to ship. It seems they're buried like everyone else these days. I promise I won't start grumbling again when 89 days have gone by! |

I’m not an instructor so I used my Instructors favorite student discount. 50% off and a 1 week wait. __________________ |

Update: Back in April, I was frustrated in my attempt to order a Springfield Armory M1A. I eventually got hold of someone who was helpful and took my credit card info. The rifle was to be shipped in 30-90 days. So I went into wait mode. I wasn't positive that my order would come through or go into a black hole. Fast forward to today. I received a shipping notice and they charged my card. It should be here in a few days. So yeah, a bumpy start, some gnashing of teeth and pulling of hair. But Springfield ultimately came through. Wow, a business that doesn't charge until the item is ready to ship? Good thing I was sitting down when I read that. __________________ |

I should have warned everybody! They told me at the time they wouldn't charge until shipment. On top of that, they held to the originally quoted price despite rampant inflation. I'm a happy camper! |

With regards to poor Customer Service (for any company), I found writing about the issue of their respective Social media accounts make them act a lot quicker then just an email/written complaint. Companies certainly do not like Negative Feedback written about them on Social Media. At least it appears that way here in Australia. |
