The British Grand Prix, one of Formula 1's biggest European races, is scheduled for Sunday, July 7, where close to 500,000 fans will gather to watch the world's fastest race cars duel it out for the victory.

The Thursday before the race, there will be a Graham Budd auction in Silverstone's Whittlebury Park to sell official F1 memorabilia to fans, according to MSN.

"With the auction taking place just days before the British Grand Prix and yards away from the pit lane at Silverstone, we’re expecting to see some big bids on these items from all over the world," said David Convery, the head of sporting memorabilia for the company.

Over 60 items will be available for bidding, like an authentic racing suit worn by F1 legend Michael Schumacher, Max Verstappen, and Sebastian Vettel.

One very special item is a 1:3 scaled remote control car, modeled after the Ferrari F2002 piloted by Schumacher.

It's the same race car he took across the championship finish line in 2002.

At that scale, the RC car is one-third of the size of a real car.

The starting price is £-150,000 to 200,000, or USD$190,000 to $316,000.

"The car’s top speed is 80kph (nearly 50mph), so whoever owns it next will certainly need a good-sized garden if they plan to test it out," continued Convery.

He called the car a "feat of mechanical genius," as it took the engineers an incredible amount of time to get right.

"This is a genuine work of art which took a team of expert engineers three years and 1,000 hours to create."

It was made by Atelier Mediatech, a Swiss company that normally makes surgical equipment.

"We were looking for an exceptional and demanding project to serve as a common thread in the training of our apprentice mechanic," explains Andrist, the company's co-founder to The Race.

"Since we are all passionate about F1 and fans of Michael Schumacher, the idea of building a replica of the world champion Ferrari seemed like an obvious choice."

The rear spoiler bears the autograph of Schumacher, adding to the value and worthiness of a dedicated fan.

Schumacher had heard of the model being engineered in late 2003 after winning the 2002 championship and reportedly asked for a demonstration.

He was understandably impressed with the speed and precision of the model, which inspired him to sign the spoiler, according to Road & Track.

If it's sold at anywhere near the estimated price, it would be deemed the most expensive RC car ever sold.

The car is over six feet long, which is much larger than most RC cars capable of high speeds.
